Maple Camera Co. Limited Warranty

Effective date: September 30, 2025

Thank you for choosing Maple Camera Co.
We professionally inspect, clean, and test all equipment before it leaves our facility. We also stand behind our products with the following Limited Warranty.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary by province, state, or country.
This document is intended as general information and does not replace legal advice.

1. Products Covered

This Limited Warranty applies to used camera equipment and related products purchased directly from Maple Camera Co., whether through our website, eBay store, or other official sales channels (collectively, the “Products”).

Items explicitly sold “for parts,” “as-is,” or “for spares/repairs” in a stated faulty condition are not covered by this Limited Warranty.

This warranty does not apply to any products purchased from unauthorized sellers, private individuals, or marketplaces where Maple Camera Co. is not the seller of record.

2. Who Is Covered

This Limited Warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the Product from Maple Camera Co. and is not transferable.

Please keep a copy of your order confirmation, invoice, or receipt as proof of purchase. We may require this to process any warranty claim.

3. Warranty Period

Maple Camera Co. warrants that covered Products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of:

Six (6) months from the invoice date, unless a different period is clearly stated at the time of sale.

If we provide a replacement Product under this Limited Warranty, the replacement is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period, not a new six-month term.

4. What This Warranty Covers

Subject to the exclusions below, this Limited Warranty covers:

  • Defects in materials or workmanship that arise under normal, intended use of the Product
  • Functional issues that prevent the Product from operating as reasonably expected for its intended purpose

If a covered defect arises during the warranty period and you meet the conditions in Section 7 (Your Responsibilities), Maple Camera Co.’s sole obligation and your exclusive remedy will be, at our discretion, to:

  • Repair the Product using new or refurbished parts; or
  • Replace the Product with a like-for-like model in comparable condition; or
  • Refund the purchase price paid for the Product.

5. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This Limited Warranty does not cover, and we are not responsible for, any of the following:

5.1 Consumables and accessories

  • Batteries, bulbs, ink, storage media, fuses or other consumables
  • Loose accessories such as caps, straps, cables, chargers, pouches, hoods, etc.

(These may be included with your purchase but are not covered by this Limited Warranty.)

5.2 Normal wear and cosmetic issues

  • Normal cosmetic wear and tear (light scratches, minor marks, brassing, or finish wear)
  • Cosmetic issues that do not affect normal operation, including minor dust, light cleaning marks, or small cosmetic imperfections
  • Especially for lenses: minor internal dust, very light haze, or cleaning marks that are consistent with normal use and do not meaningfully impact real-world image quality are generally considered normal wear.

5.3 Damage, misuse, or improper handling

  • Damage caused by impact, dropping, crushing, or excessive force
  • Damage caused by liquid, moisture, humidity, condensation, sand, dust, dirt, corrosion, or extreme temperatures
  • Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, improper storage, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions
  • Damage caused by using incompatible accessories, power supplies, firmware, or modifications

5.4 Unauthorized service or modifications

  • Any damage or fault caused by repair, modification, or disassembly performed by anyone other than Maple Camera Co. or a service provider authorized by us
  • Damage caused by attempts to alter firmware or remove hardware limitations

5.5 Items sold as faulty

  • Products sold “as-is,” “for parts,” or “for spares/repairs” with known faults disclosed at the time of sale

5.6 Other limitations

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Loss of data, memory cards, or software
  • Any loss of use, time, profit, business, or other indirect or consequential damages
  • Issues that are subjective or judgment-based only, such as minor variations in focus or sharpness that are within normal tolerances for the product type

Where local laws do not allow certain exclusions or limits, those exclusions or limits may not apply to you.

6. Relationship to Other Rights

This Limited Warranty is in addition to, and does not replace:

  • Any rights you may have under consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction; and
  • Any protections available through platforms such as eBay’s Money Back Guarantee, where applicable.

7. Your Responsibilities (How to Make a Claim)

To obtain service under this Limited Warranty, you must:

Contact us first

Email: support@maplecameraco.com

Include your name, order number, date of purchase, and a description of the issue.

We may request photos, sample images, or video describing the problem.

Follow our return instructions

We will give you a Return Authorization and instructions on where to send the Product.

Unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing, you are responsible for packaging the Product securely and shipping it to us using a tracked method.

Inspection and resolution

Once we receive the Product, we will inspect and test it.

If the issue is covered by this Limited Warranty, we will repair, replace, or refund the Product as described in Section 4.

If we determine that the issue is not covered (for example, due to accidental damage or misuse), we will notify you and, if possible, offer a paid repair or return the item to you at your expense.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Maple Camera Co.’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to a Product will not exceed the purchase price you paid for that Product.
  • Maple Camera Co. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of use, loss of data, loss of business, or loss of profits, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some provinces, states, or countries do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not fully apply to you.

9. Governing Law

Unless otherwise required by the laws of your jurisdiction, this Limited Warranty and any disputes arising out of it will be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
